Before you book

Flying New York to Dubai, plainly.

The nonstop is the easy call if the fare is close: Emirates flies JFK–DXB in about 12 hours 20 minutes eastbound, leaving in the evening and landing the following evening Dubai time. One-stop itineraries via Doha, London or Frankfurt run two to four hours longer and are usually where the lowest fares sit — on this route the gap between nonstop and one-stop has typically been $150–$300 in our recordings.

When to go

Dubai's high season is November to March, when the weather is at its best and fares firm up around the winter holidays. June through August is hot — regularly above 40°C — which is exactly why late-summer departures have produced the lowest fares we've measured so far. Shoulder months either side tend to balance weather and price.

What US passport holders need

A visa on arrival, free of charge, good for 30 days — you clear immigration with a passport valid for at least six months. No advance application. Transit through Doha or European hubs on a one-stop itinerary needs no separate visa for the connection itself.

Worth knowing at the airport

DXB is 8 hours ahead of New York. Most long-haul arrivals use Terminal 3 (Emirates) or Terminal 1; allow a full hour for immigration at peak evening arrival banks. Taxis and the metro both run from the terminal — the metro closes after midnight, which matters for the late arrival most JFK departures produce.

Asked at the desk

New York to Dubai, answered.

How long is the flight from New York to Dubai?

Nonstop, around 12 hours 20 minutes eastbound on Emirates from JFK. One-stop itineraries via Doha, London or Frankfurt typically run 14 to 16 hours.

What is the cheapest month to fly?

We publish only what we have measured. Since May 2026 the lowest month we have recorded is August, at $784 round trip including all taxes. We add each month as our desk records it rather than estimating a full year.

Is the fare guaranteed when I submit a booking request?

No. A booking request is not a confirmed ticket. Your card is stored securely when you submit it, but nothing is charged and nothing is held — no charge, no pre-authorisation. An agent takes payment at the moment your e-ticket is issued, typically within 4 to 8 working hours. If the fare is no longer available we call you with the alternatives first, and you have paid nothing.

Do the prices shown include taxes and fees?

Yes. Every fare we display is the total including all government taxes and carrier charges — the first number you see is the number you pay. Baggage fees, where they apply, are itemised before payment.
